My research focuses on the development of novel computational techniques to quantify the behaviour of nonequilibrium complex systems. Applications include soft matter, systems and computational biology, and machine learning. Our current efforts include the development of novel approaches to detect and characterize phase transitions in models of collective animal behaviour and traffic flow.
