The Cho group is working on the development of next-generation micro and nano scale three-dimensional (3D) sensors. His group has devised a self-assembly process and developed 3D micro and nanoscale isotropic and anisotropic sensors that show spatial sensing capabilities. The Cho lab is also working on a programmable interconnected 3D network of sensing systems for the realization of an environment-detection-and-mapping system
