Currently, my lab is focused on using remote sensing tools to link aboveground functional attributes of plants and their diversity to belowground processes as part of a large-scale effort to remotely sense biodiversity and ecosystem processes. Projects include linking optical diversity to functional and phylogenetic diversity of plants at multiple scales and using hyperspectral sensors and other remote sensing tools to accurately detect tree diseases in Minnesota and the Upper Midwest.
