David Mulla

Professor, Soil, Water & Climate

Dr. Mulla is Professor and Larson Endowed Chair for Soil and Water Resources in the Department of Soil, Water and Climate. His research interests focus on use imagery from multiple platforms (aerial and ground robots, airplanes, and satellites), sensors and machine learning or data mining algorithms for extracting useful information from these sources in order to better manage agricultural crops, soil health and water quality. He also applies simulation modeling at multiple scales (fields, watersheds, basins) to assess management strategies for production of food, feed, fiber and fuel, while providing other ecosystem services. Dr. Mulla is Director for the Precision Agriculture Center http://www.precisionag.umn.edu/.
