My research interests lie in the application of sensors to understand the behavior of structural systems including field and laboratory studies of buildings and bridges. The experimental work is often used to validate numerical models to extend the results of the research. Research projects have included field monitoring of structural systems such as the I35W Saint Anthony Falls Bridge and Dynamic Messaging Signs. Large-scale laboratory studies include the investigation of structural systems subjected to simulated earthquake loadings at the University of Minnesota Multi-Axial Subassemblage Testing (MAST) Laboratory.
